Simple Christmas Sugar Cookies

It's Christmas Time! A few weeks ago i saw an adorable idea create a christmas cookies so i decided to give it a try. I want to share this simple recipe the Christmas sugar cookies it just takes a few minutes to make this cookies. The rolling,cutting,baking and decorating could take a more time but its the season to bake some good cookies.








For the Cookies
1 cup softened butter at room temperature
1 cup regular castor sugar
2 eggs
1 - 1/2 tsp vanilla ( I use 1)
3 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Procedures

1. In a bowl combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Whisk until incorporated.
2. In another bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
3. Add The eggs, and whisk until well combined.
4. Gradually add in the flour mixture, beating with a wooden spoon 
5. Chill the dough for around an hour till become firm.
6. roll the dough on a floured surface till 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough with cookie cutters.
7. Place this dough onto a paper lined baking sheet.
8. Bake the cookie cut outs in a 200 C or 375 F preheated oven for 4-6 minutes- no longer, or they will not be soft.
9. Make it cool spread, and sprinkle!

For the icing 

1 1/2 tbsp butter- either melted or soft, at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
5 tbsp cold milk (more or less it depends in your desired consistency) 

1. Whisk together the butter, sugar, and vanilla, adding the milk to make it spreadable.
2. When smooth, spread onto the cookies- wait till the icing has hardened (approx. 1 hour or less if refrigerated) before stacking or serving.

There you go A simple Sugar Cookies!
